The first watch to have landed on the moon all those years ago celebrated a very special anniversary last year and as a result of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing the popularity of this watch has rocketed. The watch was worn during the first American spacewalk as part of NASAs Gemini 4 mission and was the first watch worn by an astronaut walking on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission so it has some serious history and credentials. Its functionality and aesthethics are equally as impressive. The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch sports a well recognised racing chronograph, but the watch works surprisingly well for less hectic pursuits and will look incredible in many different social settings. The 42mm case size may sound big, but since the casing is flat, it sits quite slimmed on the wrist which gives huge refinement while still retaining the sporty feel. Functionally we think NASAs continued support for the Omega brand and this model in particular is a huge testament to its performance and accuracy! The watch comes with unstamped papers which leads us to believe this is new old stock, giving the probably of having never been worn.
