Available now, this often overlooked gem of the Rolex Professional/Sports collection- The Rolex Air-King 14000M. We are often asked the difference between the Air-King 14000 and the The Rolex Air-King reference 14000M. Quite simply the M stands for modified, so as suggested by the name it is slightly different, not entirely different. You can look at the changes either in terms of aesthetics or in terms of functionality. There are very small changes to the aesthetics of the 14000M, namely the move to the use of SEL(solid end links). The real modification was the introduction of a new calibre movement; Gone was the 3000 calibre and in is place, the calibre 3130. Rolex’s legendary in-house manufactured 3130 oyster perpetual, self-winding movement, was designed to power its movement by harnessing the energy of natural arm movements. If moved/worn substantially the Air-King will continue to run without needing to be wound. In 2007, Rolex replaced the ref. 14000M with the 114200 (The first Air-King to receive COSC certification) This watch is in perfect working order having had a full service and light valet on October 21st 2021.
