Watch Description:
Presenting a truly exceptional Ladies' Rolex Datejust 79173 with jet black dial and gold baton hour markers — the quintessential bi-metal Datejust in its most confident, classical form.
First sold in 2000, this watch arrives with its complete original accompaniments: Rolex papers, original inner and outer boxes, the original swing tag, and both booklets. Complete sets of this age are increasingly difficult to find, and full provenance of this quality genuinely matters, both for the pleasure of ownership and for the long-term protection of value.
Mechanically the watch is running beautifully, having been freshly serviced at the start of May 2026. You are buying a movement that has just been through full attention and that will run with confidence for years before requiring anything further.
Aesthetically, there is a great deal to recommend it. The bi-metal steel and yellow gold five-piece Jubilee bracelet shows minimal stretch — so minimal that the watch holds its own weight when stood on its side, as our photograph (taken with the watch free-standing) demonstrates. The steel foldover clasp retains a crisp Rolex coronet and is free of scratches. The bracelet meets the case without drilled lug holes, echoing the cleaner profile that defines today's Datejust line.
The fluted bezel — the detail that quietly does so much for the Datejust's character — shows little to no wear and catches the light exactly as Rolex intended.
This is a sublime example of the reference. Higher resolution images are available below, and the watch is supplied with our one-year Alward Luxury Watches warranty so that you may buy with complete confidence.
